SAP IS-U / FICA Functional Consultant (Contract)

Location: Remote (USA) with occasional client travel

Overview

Whitehall Resources are partnering with a leading global System Integrator, is looking for an experienced SAP IS-U / FICA Functional Consultant to join a major Utilities transformation programme on an initial 6-month contract.
Working as part of a high-performing SAP delivery team, you will be responsible for the functional design, configuration, and implementation of SAP IS-U FICA solutions, supporting the successful delivery of a complex enterprise programme.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the functional design and configuration of SAP IS-U FICA.
• Gather, analyse, and document business requirements.
• Configure and support core FICA processes, including:
  • Contract Accounts
  • Payments
  • Collections
  • Dunning
  • Cash Desk
  • Security Deposits
  • Returns Processing
  • Write-offs
• Work closely with business stakeholders to facilitate workshops and recommend best-practice solutions.
• Collaborate with technical teams, including ABAP developers and integration specialists.
• Support SIT, UAT, defect resolution, cutover, and go-live activities.
• Produce high-quality functional specifications and project documentation.
• Ensure seamless integration with other SAP IS-U modules and Finance processes.

Required Experience

• 7+ years of SAP IS-U Functional Consulting experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise in SAP FICA configuration.
• Experience delivering multiple full lifecycle SAP IS-U implementations.
• Strong Utilities industry experience (electric, gas, or water).
• Excellent stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.
• Ability to work independently within a fast-paced consulting environment.
• Strong communication and client-facing consulting experience.

Preferred Experience

• SAP S/4HANA Utilities experience.
• Experience with utility customer-to-cash processes.
• Previous experience working for a System Integrator or consulting organisation.
• Agile delivery experience.
