About Whitehall
Diversity & Inclusion
Our business, like our service, is reliant on numerous unique facets working together.
As both an employer, and an employment agency, Diversity and Inclusion matters to us. We recognise that Diversity and Inclusion are not just buzzwords, but an ongoing journey that requires constant learning, reflection and action.
Whitehall are proud to be a Disability Confident employer and are committed to hiring, retaining and supporting disabled employees.
Being an accredited Disability Confident employer highlights our commitment to make the most of the unique skills and talents that disabled people can bring to our organisation.
Our Approach
Our People
Diversity and Inclusion forms part of all new joiners’ inductions.
Continuous training of all our staff, including subjects such as barriers to diversity. By ensuring staff are trained and aware of the different types of barriers when it comes to accessing candidates from different backgrounds, demographics and experiences, it is essential it starts with our people.
We’re a Disability Confident Committed Employer.
Employees have access to an external course provided by the Open University to educate and inform on the importance of Diversity and Inclusion.
Our Processes
Ensuring that the job descriptions and adverts use inclusive language to avoid unconscious bias. This allows us to communicate effectively with our audience, focusing on the skills and competencies, rather than qualifications and experiences.
When positing job descriptions and adverts, we have access to multiple job boards and social media platforms. These have been carefully chosen to ensure that we’re accessing candidates from specific demographic groups, such as racial or ethnic minorities as well as other underrepresented groups in the IT and Technology space.
A strategy we also use for some of our clients includes Blind reviewing CVs. Whitehall have a process in place where personal and identifiable information can be removed for the screening process.
Future Proofing
We have a dedicated DEI specialist, working closely with the resourcing teams to ensure that the strategies in place are being utilised. Our DEI specialist regularly attends networking events and expeditions, focusing on underrepresented group in the IT and technology space.
Whitehall has also recently invested in a new CRM where we can now report on the effectiveness of our DEI sourcing strategies.
