Senior SAP FPSL / Banking Software Engineer

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior SAP FPSL / Banking Software Engineer to join a Software Engineering team supporting the development and enhancement of custom software solutions within a banking environment.
This is a hands-on technical role where you will be responsible for designing, developing and enhancing software components across complex SAP landscapes. You will leverage modern development frameworks and agile methodologies to deliver scalable, high-performing solutions aligned with evolving business requirements.
You will act as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance to colleagues, collaborating across multiple teams and taking ownership of key technical decisions and solutions.

Requirements:

• Proven senior-level experience with SAP for Banking
• Strong experience with SAP Financial Products Subledger (FPSL) is highly desirable
• Experience in custom application development within complex SAP environments
• Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, design patterns and solution architecture
• Experience designing and implementing scalable, high-performing software solutions
• Ability to analyse complex technical challenges and develop effective, sustainable solutions
• Experience working within Agile / Scrum development environments
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across multiple teams
• Previous experience acting as a technical lead, subject matter expert or senior engineer
• Ability to mentor and support colleagues, share technical expertise and promote best practices
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, quality standards and engineering best practices
• Experience contributing to technical strategy and key design decisions
• German and French language skills are highly desirable
• Fluent English is required

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and enhance custom software components supporting banking and financial processes
• Drive the implementation of innovative technical solutions aligned with business requirements
• Provide subject matter expertise across SAP Banking and FPSL
• Analyse complex problems and deliver solutions that improve system performance, scalability and reliability
• Collaborate with multiple technical and business teams to ensure effective solution delivery
• Provide technical leadership, guidance and mentoring to other team members
• Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions
• Contribute to architecture, design and technical decision-making
• Continuously improve development processes, engineering standards and overall solution quality
