Whitehall recently held a charity campaign through the launch of our new game, Soccer Skill Shot, with a £250 prize for the winner to donate to a charity of their choice. The goal of the game was to achieve the highest score before time ran out, with players earning points by quickly reacting to moving targets and successfully hitting them with the ball.
Over the course of the campaign, hundreds of colleagues, candidates, and clients participated, with ten players rising above the rest on the leaderboard. To determine the winner, we used a random name generator to choose from the top ten high scorers, with Stephen Bruton as the recipient of the prize.
Stephen chose to donate the £250 to The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, the largest single-site cancer centre in Europe. Located in Manchester, The Christie serves a population of 2.3 million people across Greater Manchester and Cheshire, treating more than 60,000 patients each year, with over a quarter of their patients referred from other parts of the UK.
We are grateful for the support of all those who participated in the charity campaign and thrilled to see the prize being donated to such a worthy cause in The Christie NHS Foundation Trust.
A spokesperson for The Christie NHS Foundation said:
“We are delighted you have chosen to support our charity, and we cannot express enough how grateful we are for your gift. Donations like yours are simply essential for us and our work to help our cancer patients.
Thanks to your support, we are able to provide much-needed services which are over and above what the NHS is able to fund.
With 82p in every £1 raised going directly to patients, your donation helps us offer patients the very latest research and technology options, ensure our staff are at the forefront of scientific and educational breakthroughs and make significant advances in how we can care for our patients, their families and carers.”
