Desktop Support Engineer

Whitehall Resources are currently looking for a Desktop Support Engineer based in London for an initial 3-6 Month contract.

Our client are looking to enhance their On-site End User Services team with the addition of a Desk Side Support technician to operate our TechBar.

The TechBar will play a crucial role in our in-office technology support, providing hands-on assistance to our London colleagues across both Level 1 (Service Desk) and Level 2 (End User Services) issues and queries.

Need someone on Tech Bar side. Mostly on OS side, Outlook and Teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Positively interact with and support users with their technical issues and requests via TechBar, Microsoft Teams calls and onsite desk-side visits.
  • Assist with support and troubleshoot introduction of new software and deployment as needed. Interact with vendors and provide hands-on support.
  • Assist and train users, when necessary, on common productivity applications including the Microsoft Office 365.
  • Provide Tier-1 support of wired and wireless networking, remote access, VPN, multi-factor authentication Escalate issues as needed to wider resolver groups
  • Provide level 1 and 2 support for our on-site colleagues, acting as the IT Guru for all matters related to Technology Support
  • Provide onsite white glove support, build relationships with executives, support staff, and visitors and promptly assist them with their questions, incidents, and service requests.
  • Manage colleague expectations remotely using effective communication, quick resolution in keeping with our outstanding customer support services, ensure service levels are maintained and provide highest level of colleague experience.
  • Track all requests maintaining ownership of the issue and providing consistent and timely resolutions.
  • Troubleshoot and repair any hardware/software issues that cannot be resolved by Global Service Desk which includes more complex issues
  • Receive and work new and existing tickets via Calls, Chats, and Ticket Assignments in ServiceNow

Key Skills:

  • Proficient in relevant software, including MS Office applications e.g., Excel as well as other productivity software packages. inc MS Teams, and wider MS 365 applications
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers at all levels and explain technical solutions tof non-technical audiences, inclusive of understanding/empathizing with customers while remaining committed to providing quality results with positive service.
  • Working across a wider service desk / L2 TEAM within a complex organization
  • Workinhg knowledge of networks, operating systems, VPN solutions and application deployment methods.
  • Experience with iOS devices in a managed environment.
  • Experience of imaging, maintaining and repairing laptops in a working environment
  • Knowledge of Intune within a managed services model
  • Good working knowledge of ITIL Service Delivery processes (preferably with formal certification)
  • Strong knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow
